Hoyo de Manzanares lies between Torrelodones and Colmenar Viejo, within the Parque Regional de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares (a regional park). It is a mainly residential municipality of detached houses and estates surrounded by hillside, where almost everyone depends on the car.
