A Baroque town with estates around it
Nuevo Baztán was founded in the early eighteenth century on the initiative of the Navarrese financier Juan de Goyeneche, who commissioned José Benito de Churriguera to design the ensemble: the palace, the church and the squares that still form the heart of the town. It is one of the most unusual examples of the Baroque in the Madrid region and welcomes visitors all year round.
Around that historic core, large residential areas have grown up, such as the part of Eurovillas that belongs to the municipality, where much of the population lives. We pick up in both: in the centre, next to the monumental ensemble, and in any street on the estates.
